Open Registration Pathways

There are a number of different pathways to registration depending upon cabling experience and trade and/or other relevant qualifications.

Novices
Candidates for registration with no cabling experience or less than two years eligible cabling experience follow the competency-based pathway to Open Registration.

Licensed Electricians and 'Long-Term Experienced Cablers'
Candidates in this category follow a 4-module pathway to registration.

Short-Term Experienced Cablers
Provided Cablers have 600 hours of eligible cabling experience over a two-year period they may qualify for an accelerated 7-module pathway to registration. This pathway may be further shortened if the required knowledge and skills can be demonstrated or documentary evidence of relevant training can be provided.

NB: This self assessment will not entitle you to any claims for the accelerated pathway but it will give you an indication of your likely eligibility.
